Erika: I only started reading your comics a few days ago, when I immediately read the entire archive. Most of the comic diaries I’ve read tend to either come off as whiney or make it seem like the artist is trying to hard to impress the reader with how “wacky” their life is (or, in some cases, how much it sucks). My point is not to put down other comics, but to acknowledge that a good comic diary is difficult to create, yet you’ve done an excellent job at it. You come across as very self-aware: self-deprecating enough to be funny and show your humanity, but not so much as to be self hating.
To add to my last comment: Matt doesn’t strike me as a big british stereotype at all.
If Matt is anything like the “character” we see on the internet. I suspect he is a great guy to have around.
