There’s a Good Vibes in Brookline, MA as well (just near Coolidge Corner).

Good vibrations also has a location in Boston, in Brookline! It’s my favorite place for taking first timers!

I loved this series! Too many women are afraid of making themselves feel good.
May I also suggest Smitten Kitten in Minneapolis http://www.smittenkittenonline.com/, and Sugar in Baltimore http://www.sugartheshop.com/ . Both are awesome, helpful and offer workshops.

I think you meant Brookline, MA for the Good Vibes location. I think most people will think you meant Brooklyn, NY

For those based in Portland Oregon there is also the Fantasy for Adults Only chain of stores. The staff is very knowledgeable and more than happy to answer all questions.

I sometimes wish I was born a girl so that I could use vibrators the way god intended.
Men need more toys other then the pocket pussy.

also it’s spelled berkeley, i had coffee at the coffee shop right next to the good vibrations there a few weeks ago and tried to talk the girly into buying one but she seemed to think i should be able to handle the task of pleasing her sexually myself (I cannot)

We have the Laya Spot and that bunny tickler.
In Vancouver we have a store called Womynsware that (womynsware.com!) is pretty awesome. Ironically, I don’t really shop there anymore cos’ an ex of mine works there and it is super awkward buying condoms and sex toys from them.

Cute :3
Iv enjoyed the vibrator series. Im hoping to get one soon.

Smitten Kitten is amazing too http://www.smittenkittenonline.com. It’s not only really lady-positive, but it only uses non-toxic sex toys.

FWIW because I don’t have any of those listed stores near-by, I found the Hustler store to be really informative. There was a woman there who had a table of lots of cool vibes and explained the different materials. It was really welcoming and cool, once you got past the hustler-themed clothing store up front. I got to try some out (in my hands), and ended up coming home and ordering a Fun Factory Delight (the one in the comic) in purple and teal (awesome color – doesn’t get lost when dropped in the sheets!!)

I’m so glad you listed websites! I refer loads of women to babeland and good vibes if they can’t decide in the store or are so painfully shy they can’t bring themselves to ask me questions about the toys.

@Adam:
You need not limit your sex toy options! You can always get toys for your ‘back door’! It’s the best way to access the male G-Spot. If you’re squeamish about that idea, you can always practice with your finger first (with lots of lube, of course). If you’re concerned about hygiene, you could use an enema beforehand. And more importantly, as Erika says, Go slow!

Yay for the Venus Envy shout out! I got my first vibe at the Halifax location! :)

Dammit, why did I get stuck with a Y chromosome? Women get ALL the fun toys.

if you’re in milwaukee, go to the toolshed or a woman’s touch. they are both feminist sex toy shops geared towards woman. a woman’s touch also has regular workshops about a variety of sex and sex-toy related subjects. and one of the owners is a doctor! both stores are very health-conscious.

I’d like to suggest Womyn’s Ware too (http://www.womynsware.com) located on Commercial Drive in Vancouver, BC.
Stylish, extremely encouraging boutique of female-friendly toys, books, accessories, gifts, games, etc. etc. :)
All toys and lubes are tested and reviewed, and non-toxic.

MyInspiredRomance.com <— My friend owns the company and does home parties. Its not as uncomfortable to look for a new one around a bunch of your girlfriends and drinks :-) Plus she is a Registered nurse so she can answers lots of odd questions.

Erika, I love your comic! Unfortunately my hubby is intimidated by the thought of me getting another vibe since my olde one wore out. I called him Big Red, he was sparkly. To all the men out there: Sex toys add to you and your partner’s sex lives. They’re like party favors, you wouldn’t be intimidated by a party favor would you? They enhance and add to, they’re not meant to replace anything. A happy partner means better sex. ;)

In Portland, OR, try woman-owned and woman-centered It’s My Pleasure. It is amazing!
July 25th, 2009 at 3:42 am
I absolutely love this series (and your whole comic anyway, to be precise)!
Really like your style and humour.
My personal favourites when it comes to vibes are Funfactory (one day, when I’m rich, I’ll have a “Delight” :D ) and Lelo (I’ve got a really cute and efficient little one from them which has a USB-chargeable Li-Accu! They really are worth the price.).
It’s a pity there were only 3 parts…

Great strip! But Berkeley is spelled with three E’s.

Just found your site on sexisnottheenemy.tumblr.com/, very witty :)
Also wanted to second your love for Venus Envy. My husband and I have a toy box the size of a large rubbermaid bin, mostly from there.

If you come from Australia I totally recommend Femplay.com.au the prices are really reasonable and the customer service is second to none!

Am I the only one that totally laughed irl at the “srs bizness” next to the Hitachi Wand?

Z, I have been to smitten kitten. At first I thought it was a pet supply store. My buss goes by it everyday. Go in expecting to buy cat food walk out with a fun toy! :3

I’m assuming this guide can also be used when buying your first risque gift for your girl. Though it involves working somewhat odd questions into either relaxed/drunken back and forth or other intimate encounters.

You need to look into the aspect of vibrators for men… your boyfriend might enjoy it too… or is he you husband now?
September 2nd, 2009 at 3:04 pm
@chibidoll13, I included links above to cover the world of knowledge about vibrators that I could not fit into three pages, including one specifically about men and vibrators :)
November 2nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
Mister Sister in Providence, RI is another good one. Go vibrators!
November 7th, 2009 at 10:58 pm

I love that you have Venus Envy as one of the stores – it is my absolute favourite store in Ottawa, and I frequent it often, introducing my friends to its wonders. :D

Pure Romance all the way. It’s basically Mary Kay but with sex toys. The parties are a lot of fun too.
