I don't understand this at all! As someone who obviously enjoys picking at herself, how can you pass up on the pure pleasure of ear cleaning? I wish I had that much restraint, getting out such a monster must have been hugely gratifying. I have a hard time holding out long enough for anything to build up.

A cockroach? in the ear canal?

sometimes, I think nurses and dentists (especially dentists) tell us crazy things just to see if we'll believe them.

Yeah those beeswax candles work well. I actually talked to a nurse about them and she told me a horror story about using one and finding that the patient's ear had been blocked by a cockroach in the canal. Good thing she used the wax, since using force instead of vacuum would've probably pushed it in farther and made things worse.

If you can't get it totally clean with just a water rinse using a liquid bulb, try using 3% Hydrogen Peroxide (The kinds that you get for cuts). It emulsifies the earwax, so you can more easily wash it out with water. Also, it makes cool popping sounds!

Just don't do it too often, Hydrogen Peroxide tends to dry out your ear canal.
